Paula Baldinger
From an early age Paula was exposed to all forms of art and nature by the many talented family members that surrounded her.
During her time of pursuing a career in science at Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn and the Tree Ring Lab. at Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory in Palisades, NY. she always nurtured her love of
art by doing Modern Dance, gardening, cooking, being a floral designer and renovating her 1882 Victorian home in Nyack.
She retired and returned to where she spent her summers as a child. By going back to the wonderful landscape of the Bashakill Wetlands it reinvigorated her love of art and nature. Wanting to capture its beauty she started taking classes at Wallkill River School. She fell in love with watercolor as a medium through which she could express the translucent and iridescent qualities of natures beauty. One of the great reasons for living along the Bashakill is the landscape and wildlife, particularly the many species of birds that either live or pass through during the spring and fall migration.
